Check list:

  1. Simplify expressions using the laws of exponents for rational exponents where \({x^{\frac{p}{q}}} = \sqrt[q]{{{x^p}}}\); \(x > 0\); \(q>0\) and including Grade 10 content.
  2. Add, subtract, multiply and divide simple surds.

Revise the basics

It's been a (short) while since you were in Grade 10, so take a moment to revise before jumping into the more difficult concepts.

Expressions

Ladies and gentlemen, this is where the fun begins. Working with exponents is like training a dog, you get the basics right (like sit, stay and walking on a lead) and all of the rest becomes a lot easier. If you get confused at any point, it will probably be because you can't remember how to factorise (go back to Grade 10 Algebraic Expressions) or you can't remember the laws of exponents.

Solving Exponential Equations

Right, have you master exponential expressions? And can you solve linear and quadratic equations? Then you should be ready to move on to this.
