Check list:

  1. Define the trigonometric ratios sinθ, cosθ, and tanθ, using right-angled triangles.
  2. Extend the definitions of sinθ, cosθ, and tanθ for \({0^o} \le \theta  \le {360^o}\).
  3. Define the reciprocals of the trigonometric ratios, cosecθ, secθ and cotθ, using right-angled triangles (these three reciprocals should be examined in Grade 10 only)
  4. Derive values of the trigonometric ratios for the special cases (without using a calculator) \(\theta  \in \left\{ {{0^o};{{30}^o};{{45}^o};{{60}^o};{{90}^o}} \right\}\)
  5. Solve two-dimensional problems involving right-angled triangles.
  6. Solve simple trigonometric equations for angles between \({{0^o}}\) and \({{90^o}}\).
  7. Use diagrams to determine the numerical values of ratios for angles from \({{0^o}}\) to \({{360^o}}\).
  8. Solving problems in two dimensions

Learn the concepts:

There is always such a big hype around trigonometry. The truth is, it's quite easy to use as long as you master each step before moving on the the next one. I like to teach this section in a very particular order, and this order is not usually the order found in textbooks. Follow the order of these videos and you will be fine. There are somethings you will need to memorise so pay close attention.
